OVERVIEW

• How come over 96% of DMU’s students are in fulltime employment or further studies after their graduation?

• Why do thousands of students get to travel to places such as New York and Hong Kong every year?

• How is it that DMU’s graduates always get to showcase their designs at the important UK Graduation Fashion Show every year?

As a DMU student, you will get opportunities you never could have dreamt of before. DMU is investing millions to make sure their students will have the greatest experiences with the best teachers and facilities. They are also putting a lot of effort into establishing industry links to help them kick-start their career.

In the past 5 years they have invested over 200 million pounds in their campus, which has placed DMU in the forefront of modern and innovative universities.

DMU started in 1870 as an Institution of Art and Technology and has since then grown to become one of the bigger universities in the UK with nearly 25,000 students and over 400 degree programmes.

3 Top reasons to study at DMU:

ACCOMMODATION

DMU campus is located right in the city centre of Leicester and there are 10 main student halls that you can book at preferable rates via the university and we aim to offer all new first year students a room.

The price start at £99/week for a basic room in a shared flat of 10 rooms. The ensuite rooms start at £115/week and is normally in flats of 3-5.

You can choose an all-female flat, all-male or mixed gender flat.

All the halls have a reception with exceptional service and staff 24/7.

LIVING EXPENSES

Good news! Leicester is one of the top most affordable cities in the country for students. The bank HSBC does a study each year to calculate the living cost and the verdict is that you can live well below £200 a week in Leicester.

As DMU is a campus in the middle of the city centre, you do not need to commute to get around – you can just walk!

The city of 330,000 inhabitants (40,000 students) is big enough to be fun and to be able to offer you a wide range of activities, shopping, sports, culture and job opportunities and is small enough to have that small town feeling of safety and friendliness.

Leicester has actually been nominated one of the top cities to live and work in the UK by the 2016 Good Growth for Cities Index.
