That’s the trouble with maths. It’s so fascinating, so absorbing, one degree just isn’t enough.
If you loved your undergraduate course and you’re ready to tackle advanced topics in pure and applied mathematics, Sheffield is the place to do it.
This intensive introduction to these topics draws on our strengths in algebra, geometry, topology, number theory, fluid dynamics and solar physics. You’ll attend lectures but you’ll also get hands-on research experience, writing a dissertation supervised by an active researcher.
And we keep our classes small so that everyone gets to interact with their tutors.
You’ll be amazed just how relevant your love of maths is. The range of applications is mind-boggling. And the transferable skills you’ll pick up, including problem solving, will make you an asset to any employer.
Possible module choices include:
Topics in Advanced Fluid Dynamics
Analytical Dynamics and Classical Field Theory
Methods of Mathematical Physics
Stochastic Processes and Finance
Waves and Magnetohydrodynamics
We are currently NOT ACCEPTING applications from NON-EU countries, except Georgia and Serbia.
