Read my story

The first year explores a wide range of business subjects that
provide the foundation for your degree. You also start to develop the
professional and academic skills necessary for a business career.

The second year considers a strategic view of organisation management
that brings together all the modules in the course. The development of
communication, presentation and interview skills also supports career
planning and graduate employment.

In the final year you can choose to specialise in a particular area,
for example supply chain management or international business. This
can tie in directly to the area of business you want to work in and is
something you will be able to discuss at interviews to show where you
interests and motivation lie.

Career opportunities

As well as providing a course which develops your expertise to
prepare you for the world of work, as a Business Management student
you also have the option of taking a work placement between the second
and final years of study. This is achieved by transferring to BA
Business Studies. Alternatively you can make use of the summer
holidays to take an internship working in a UK or international
organisation, enjoying shorter work placements.

Both of these opportunities offer rewarding work experience during
which you can apply your business skills in a professional
environment. This often leads to final year sponsorship and a job
offer, and will normally be the basis of your final year dissertation.
