Overview
Contrary to what many people think, the 2008 financial meltdown stills casts a heady shadow over our financial system. The business world is lacking in control management, risk management and consumer confidence. The MFMC programme will therefore, provide you with the necessary financial tools and instruments to improve and develop the financial world. After completing the Master of Financial Management and Control (FMC) you will be fully equipped to kick-start your career in the financial sector and, ultimately, land a job at CFO level.
The MFMC comprises three pillars. Firstly you will scrutinise anything and everything that has to do with finance: from financing start-ups to acquisition for existing companies. The FMC will train you to have all the traits of a prospective CFO, making the second pillar of management a crucial one. Lastly, we focus on control systems as found in corporate governance, asking questions like “how can you devise an efficient data system” or “how does the use of soft control systems encourage consumer confidence?”
Career opportunities
After graduating, motivated people can rise to the top and make lasting, positive contributions to business. They may accept jobs with large corporations, but just as often take jobs with small or mid-size companies and non-profit organisations.
Other career options include consulting positions or entrepreneurship.
