With this course, you will gain an in-depth knowledge of the impact of cleft palate and speech difficulties on an individual across the lifespan.

The course is for speech and language therapists and others who want to develop a specialism.

You’ll develop your understanding of current research into the nature of speech development and difficulties as a basis for further specialism and postgraduate study.

Research Methods


The course is taught by a combination of online material and intensive study blocks, each lasting two to three days. These take place at regular intervals throughout the academic year between October and May.


Each module is assessed by a written assignment.
