On this exciting part-time course you will examine the rapidly changing international public management and policy environment in the 21st century, with special emphasis on the analysis of public management systems and reforms across countries and jurisdictions.
The specialist pathway in human rights will enable you to connect public management with key issues in public governance such as the civil rights agenda, the rights of migrants, and civil society mobilisation.
You will graduate ready to progress into a career in the public or not-for-profit sectors and with the skills to conduct PhD level research into issues such as public policy analysis and the effects of global governance on human rights.
The MPA is an internationally recognised award. If your interests lie in the public management and governance, the Northumbria MPA will keep you at the forefront of policy transfer and learning. You will develop understanding of processes whereby governments learn from other countries to improve public services.
Graduates of this new course will be able to pursue careers in international governmental organisations, such as the United Nations, the OECD, international NGOs, the third sector or the developmental banks, as well as regional organisations. The course also provides an excellent foundation for careers involving research, international and economic development analysis.
