Overview
All life is energy. Energy consumption is rising, reserves dwindling worldwide. It is vital that we cover our energy needs (lighting, heating, power etc.) as economically and efficiently as possible and minimize primary energy use. This must be achieved as far as possible by using the sun, wind, water and geothermal energy, for these are our future. This programme is about efficient and environmentally friendly production and use of energy. It offers an innovative education in ecology, technology and business economics. You will learn to develop, plan and market efficient technologies for energy production and conversion. A further specialisation of the course is in the field of ecological and energy efficient buildings.
Focus
- energy generation systems with emphasis on renewables: solar energy, biomass, wind, water
- planning and optimisation of ecological and energy-efficient buildings, comprehensive building assessment and management
- energy services
- optimisation of energy systems for vehicle propulsion systems, heat supply and lighting under consideration of energy and economic influences
- the economics of energy and energy policy
- teamwork, social competence, English
Career opportunities
Career prospects are excellent in this future oriented field. Every company is increasingly interested in using energy efficiently and in environment-friendly ways and in producing environmentally-friendly products.
Graduates of this course optimise energy use in companies, research into and work on innovative new products and building designs for environmentally-friendly energy generation and consumption
